Rubik Combined Listings is one of the few apps on Shopify that provides a truly complete solution for merging product variants and unifying variant images. I’ve tried dozens of apps in this space and even modified theme code to achieve similar results, but this app is by far the most reliable and comprehensive solution I’ve found.
One of the standout features is the ability to list product variants separately on collection pages. The “pick color” functionality for swatches offers a fast and user-friendly experience, and the option to use custom images adds great flexibility.

What merchants are reviewing
Plenty of shops keep each colour as a separate Shopify product, for search, for stock, or because a supplier feed demands it. The cost is that a shopper sees one colour and never learns the other four exist. Rubik Combined Listings Swatch groups those products and draws the family as colour, image or button swatches, on the product page and on every collection card, while each product keeps its own URL. Everything it does.
Groups are built by hand, or in bulk across the whole catalogue from a title pattern, a product tag, a metafield or a CSV. Magic Fill reads each product image and writes the option value and the swatch colour, so nobody picks hex codes by hand. The help centre walks through all of it, and the swatches are mapped to 358 themes and every major page builder.
Nothing a shopper sees waits on our servers: the product page renders its swatches from data already in the page. The app carries the Built for Shopify badge, and unlike Shopify's own combined listings it runs on every plan rather than Plus alone. Questions merchants ask before installing
Can I use combined listings without Shopify Plus?
Not Shopify's own feature, which is restricted to Plus. This app does the same job from outside, so it runs on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus at the same price. That restriction is the single most common reason merchants arrive here. More on combined listings.
How do I link separate Shopify products as variants?
Create a group, add the products, and give each one an option value such as Navy or Oak. The storefront then draws them as a row of swatches on each product's page and under each collection card. Nothing is merged, renamed or redirected. Setting up your first group.
Can the swatches show on collection pages?
Yes, and this is the part most themes cannot do at all. A theme showing swatches on a card is showing one product's variants; it has no way to know four other products belong with it. Hovering swaps the card image and clicking opens that product. Collection card swatches.
Do I have to name every colour by hand?
No. Magic Fill reads each product's image and title and writes the option value and the swatch colour, including a second colour when the product is two tone. It strips a title prefix the whole group shares, and it never overwrites a value you set yourself. How Magic Fill works.
Will it work with my theme?
The app carries selectors for 358 themes: official Shopify themes, themes sold elsewhere, and all seven major page builders. Unmapped themes usually work on generic selectors, and support will map yours properly if you send a collection page URL. The full theme list.
Does it slow the storefront down?
Product page swatches render from data already in the page, so they cost no request at all. Nothing a shopper sees waits on our servers, which means a slow or unreachable app server cannot hold up your storefront.
Is it bad for SEO?
It is the reason many merchants keep products separate in the first place. Every colour keeps its own URL, title, description and images, so each can rank for its own terms. No URL is created, changed or redirected, and no canonical is rewritten.
What does it cost, and is there a free plan?
The free plan covers five product groups with no time limit and no card. Paid plans are $10 for 100, $30 for 500, $50 for 5,000 groups a month, with two months off on annual billing. A group is one family however many products are in it, and every feature is on every plan including the free one. Plans and what counts as a group.
Can I group a whole catalogue at once?
Yes. Bulk grouping proposes families from a shared title pattern, structured product tags, a metafield the products already share, or a CSV you upload. You review what it found before anything is created. The four detection methods.
Nothing appeared on my storefront. What should I check first?
The app embed, which is off until you switch it on in the theme editor, and which can also be on but on a draft theme rather than the live one. The dashboard has a status card that tells you which. That accounts for most of these. Full troubleshooting.
